Important — Not Financial, Legal, or Tax Advice

FedVetRetirement provides educational retirement planning estimates only. Nothing on this platform constitutes financial advice, tax advice, investment advice, or legal advice. All outputs are estimates and projections based on your inputs. Consult a qualified financial advisor, tax professional, or attorney before making any retirement decisions.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using FedVetRetirement ("Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and FedVetRetirement. Your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

The Service is designed exclusively for US-based users subject to FERS, VA, and US federal tax law. It is not intended for use outside the United States.

3. Not Financial, Legal, or Tax Advice

The Service is for educational and informational purposes only. It does not constitute and should not be relied upon as financial, investment, tax, legal, or professional advice of any kind.

  • We are not registered investment advisors, financial planners, tax professionals, or attorneys.
  • Projections and calculations are estimates based on your inputs and publicly available benefit formulas.
  • Benefit rules, tax laws, and OPM/VA regulations are subject to change without notice.
  • Your actual retirement benefits will be determined by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Social Security Administration (SSA), and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), not by this Service.
  • Always verify your retirement estimates with OPM, SSA, and VA directly before making any decisions.

4. No Guarantee of Accuracy

While we strive to keep our calculations aligned with current federal benefit formulas and tax rules, we make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information provided.

  • GS pay tables, COLA rates, and benefit formulas are updated periodically but may not reflect the most recent changes.
  • Social Security, FERS pension, and VA benefit estimates depend on your inputs, which may differ from your official records.
  • Tax calculations are simplified estimates and do not account for all individual circumstances.
  • Projections use assumptions (inflation, growth rates, life expectancy) that may not match your actual outcomes.

All outputs should be independently verified with the relevant federal agencies and a qualified professional before any retirement decision is made.

5. User Responsibilities

By using the Service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information in your scenarios.
  • Verify all calculations and estimates against your official benefit statements.
  • Make your own financial, retirement, and legal decisions independently.
  • Keep your account credentials secure and confidential.
  • Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Not attempt to access, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service's systems or data.
  • Not impersonate other users or misrepresent your affiliation.

  • Agency pilot terms may be subject to a separate written agreement between FedVetRetirement and the participating agency.

10. AI-Powered Features

Certain subscriber features use artificial intelligence powered by the OpenAI API to generate personalized retirement planning insights and recommendations. By using AI features:

  • You understand that AI-generated outputs are informational only and do not constitute financial, legal, or professional advice.
  • AI responses may contain errors or reflect limitations of the underlying model.
  • A structured summary of your scenario data is transmitted to OpenAI's API to generate responses. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
  • We do not guarantee the availability of AI features. They may be modified or discontinued at any time.
  • You are responsible for independently verifying any AI-generated recommendations.

11. Data Ownership & Export

You retain ownership of the financial scenario data you input into the Service.

  • You may export your scenario data in JSON format at any time using the Export feature within the Service.
  • We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service and access your data during your subscription.
  • Upon account deletion, we will delete your personal data subject to the retention periods in our Privacy Policy.
  • We do not claim intellectual property rights over your scenario inputs or the numerical projections derived from them.

12. Refund Policy

See your numbers free before you subscribe. Your retirement paycheck snapshot and income gap are available at no charge — no credit card required. Subscribe only when you're ready to unlock full detail and exports.

All subscription fees and one-time purchase fees are non-refundable unless we expressly state otherwise in writing or as required by applicable law. This includes:

  • Unused time remaining after cancellation (access continues to the end of the paid period).
  • Subscriptions cancelled before the end of the paid billing period.
  • Accounts suspended or terminated for Terms violations.

If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@fedvetretirement.com within 30 days of the charge. We will investigate and, if an error is confirmed, issue a correction or credit at our discretion.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FedVetRetirement and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Retirement decisions made based on Service outputs.
  • Inaccurate projections or calculations.
  • Loss of data or account access.
  • Interruptions, errors, or downtime.
  • Any unauthorized access to your data.

In no event shall our total cumulative liability to you exceed the greater of (a) the total subscription fees you paid to us in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty dollars ($50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FedVetRetirement and its affiliates, officers, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3, 4, 13, 14, 16, and 17) shall survive.

16. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.

  • Arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis. Class actions and class arbitrations are not permitted.
  • You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
  • The arbitration shall be conducted in Pennsylvania or remotely as agreed by the parties.
  • The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.
  • Each party bears its own arbitration fees and costs, subject to the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek emergency injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.

If you are a resident of the European Union or another jurisdiction that prohibits mandatory arbitration, this section may not apply to you.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal proceedings not subject to the arbitration clause above shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania.

18. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above.
